The firefighters and people all around the country have been trying to extinguish the fires that started on July 27-28th and burnt the lungs of our country.

The ecological balance of our country was severely damaged with these 197 forest fires that broke out in 44 provinces. As the Hayrat Humanitarian Aid Association, we have taken an active role both in putting the fires out and have continued our efforts to respond to the needs of disaster victims on the ground. Due to massive wildfires, as a result of which thousands of hectares of forest were reduced to ashes, some of the rural people, who make a living from animal husbandry, have had serious difficulties providing feed and hay for their animals.

On the one hand, we have taken part in extinguishing the fires; on the other hand, we continued to provide other fire-fighting personnel and the public with equipment and food in the region. Innocent animals are not forgotten in these aid efforts.  Straw and cattle/sheep feed were left in front of the doors of the farmers in need due to the victimization of the disaster.320 bales of straw and 220 sacks of feed were distributed to those in need in the region.

In addition to these efforts, we have shouldered a new responsibility following the extinguishing and controlling of the vast majority of the fire. We have taken action to repair the damage as quickly as possible. We have launched the project to plant seedlings in the burned forests through the project “Let It Green Through Kindness.”

The burnt forests will regreen through the seedlings donated by the benefactors within this campaign.
